Many families have found these resources to be helpful when starting on their journey.

This local organization has a website that covers all the necessary topics from understanding gender identity to providing invaluable tools such as a Gender Support Plan used by many families and schools. Gender Spectrum also trains school staff and administrators.

Gender Spectrum Annual Conference for Families

Location: Moraga, CA

When: Usually a weekend in July

Meet other families and learn from the experts in the field: everything from understanding the gender spectrum to medical advances and changing identification documents. Children meet in their own groups by age.

Outlet is mostly known for their in-person support groups and events for LGBTQ youth, counseling, outreach services, advocacy, school trainings and professional development. But Outlet also offers education, support and resources for parents of LGBTQ youth.
